Liking Yourself: Why I Don't Cover My Acne

This is me and my acne. This picture was taken over a year ago in New York somewhere around the time when my skin started getting bad. Since then, after visiting many doctors my acne got worse instead of getting better and on the surface nothing changed. But something more important has changed instead: my attitude towards it.

The skin on my face was clear all my life and seeing it change for the worse was difficult at first. But I know that the real beauty is to be yourself, with all the imperfections you have and to carry them proudly. I don't cover my spots as I don't want to be perfect. I just want to be me.
